This year I’m very excited to have been shortlisted for the prestigious Kelpies Prize run by the wonderful Floris Books, for my story David and the Surprisingly Smart-o-saurus! You can read more about the prize and the story here. I’m currently planning a second children’s middle grade novel and looking forward to getting stuck into writing!
In 2016 I was selected as one of the emerging writers to read at Edinburgh City of Literature’s Storyshop events at Edinburgh International Book Festival. I performed my short story ‘Billy’s War’ in the Spiegeltent. You can read the story and watch a video of my reading on the Edinburgh City of Literature website.
I also write poetry and drama. I performed my one-woman play Green Knight at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017, and I’ve previously had comedy sketches performed on stage, and on BBC Radio Scotland.
I’m currently one of the creative directors of Shoreline of Infinity‘s Infinitesimals which will launch in late 2017. As part of this project, I have adapted several short stories from Shoreline of Infinity magazine into audio dramas which will be available on-line after the launch. I’d been involved previously with the Shoreline group as a performer in their monthly Event Horizon live nights in Edinburgh, and in the first Shoreline full-length play, Seeing Stars. They’re a wonderful, energetic bunch of creatives and it’s always a pleasure to work with them. Watch this space for news of the Infinitesimals launch.
A number of my poems have been published online:
‘Cramond Shore‘, on The Open Mouse.
‘Close‘ published by Dear Damsels.
‘Adamare’, ‘The Irish Actor’, and ‘Moonspill‘ published by Clear Poetry.
